Chinese language was first and continues to be published in the Wade-Giles transcripted to 'english' spelling; in most cases, this remains correct.  There also exists transcriptions for 'cantonese' which continues to exist for those Chinese who fortunately escaped from CPC/PRC communist china; this is the major language used in Hong Kong.  The newer 'pin yin'...abbreviated Chinese represents mostly an academic attempt to cosolidate all chinese dialects to the Beijing version; the spelling is usuful, but the damage done to tranditional characters is not acceptable. When inputing english spelling, it is also useful to try near to and also phonetic spellings.
